CHHS completes archery competition (with team results)

Charles Henderson completed the National Archery in the Schools Program state competition.
The middle school team finished fourth, falling just short of qualifying for nationals.
As a team, the middle school squad shot 3177 with Kyle Goodson topping the male list with a 280. Lindsey Fox fired a 279 for the females.
The high school team shot a 3108 to finish 11th. Ethan Norman scored a 274 to lead the males while Ashlyn Johnson shot 251 for the females.
Abigail Salmon paced the females for the elementary team with a 258. Logan Wilson led the males with a 253. The elementary squad shot 2818 as a team.
The Trojans took 51 shooters to the competition of over 1,200 competitors representing schools from across the state.
Charles Henderson competed at all three levels of competition after fielding just a high school team last year.
Each shooter got 30 arrows, with 15 shots taken from 10 meters and another 15 from 15 meters with all arrows shot from identical Matthew’s Genesis bows without the aid of sights or release aids.
