Nell M. Fowler, age 81, of Troy, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral services for Ms. Fowler will be Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m., at Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Alsop officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation for Ms. Fowler will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning at the funeral home.
Ms. Fowler was born in Luverne, in 1930 and graduated from Luverne High School.  She received her bachelor and masters degree in education from Troy Teachers College. Ms. Fowler taught in the Troy City School system for 35 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Troy where she was a member of their Women’s Circle.  Ms. Fowler was a member of Bridge Clubs, the Birthday Club and the Friendship Club.  She very much loved God, family and church.
Ms. Fowler touched the lives of so many people and was dearly loved by her family, friends and former students.
Ms. Fowler was preceded in death by her husband of more than 63 years, Helton Fowler; parents, Manning and Georgia Moore; one sister, Betty Lane Peterman (David); one sister-in-law, Betty Moore; and four brothers, James Henry Moore (Evelyn), Lamar Moore, Dr. Glenn Moore and Lister Moore (Sheila).
She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Crumpler (Denny), Helen Morgan (Terry), Lynne Austin (Buddy); one brother, Dr. Morgan Moore (Wilma); two brothers-in-law, Edward Fowler (Irene) and Horace Fowler (Wilma); five sisters-in-law, Jeanette Moore, Hazel Moore, Joyce Peterman, Betty Ferguson and Judy Fowler; four grandchildren, Kim Crumpler May, Jeffrey Morgan (Laurie), Leigh Morgan Gaines and Will Austin; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Wilson, Landon May and Olivia Anne Morgan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the First Presbyterian Church of Troy at 105 George Wallace Drive, Troy, Alabama 36081 or to the American Heart Association at 9154 Eastchase Pkwy #366 Montgomery, Alabama 36117.
