Troy woman arrested for Saturday arson

A Troy woman was arrested Monday for a Saturday fire at the Troy Regional Medical Center.

Troy Police arrested Tameka Evette Darby, 39, for arson first degree.

According to a release from TPD, police and firefighters responded to TRMC around 11:30 a.m. Saturday to the report of a fire.

A bed in a room on the second floor of the hospital was set on fire by Darby. There were no patients on the floor at the time, and only three employees on the floor. No one was injured.

Officers from the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting with the investigation.

Darby is currently in the Pike County Jail with a bond set at $10,000.
