Johnny Ray Powell

Johnny Ray Powell, 59, a resident of Luverne, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Grimes and Rev. Brian Pullen officiating.  Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.  Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Gafford and Sara Rebecca Walters Powell, and one brother, James Gafford Powell.  Survivors include one son, Paten (Jackie) Powell; two grandsons, Tyler and Tobey Powell; four sisters, Annie Charles Skipper, Helen (Harold) Macon, Carolyn (Morris) Barr and Peggy (Jimmy) Messick; and special family friends, Betty Culver, Amanda (Ken) Bray, William Boyd, Haley and Brailyn Boyd and Ella Marie Bray.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
