Nettie Evans Jones

Nettie Evans Jones, age 83, of Montgomery, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at Baptist Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 4 p.m. pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Shawn Merithew and Rev. Charles Womelsdorf officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.  Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Carol W. (John) McNelley of Wallsboro; her sons, John Paul Jones of Montgomery and Henry (Ellen) Warren of Wallsboro; her grandchildren, Johna M. (Jerrod) McCord, Jason Bradley (Lisa) Warren, and Andrew Todd Warren; her great-grandchildren, Carli Evan McCord, Natali Reese McCord, Adalyn Hope Warren, and Jake Howard Warren; and her sisters, Virginia McAbee of Pell City, Vivian (Robert) Felts of Atmore, and Glenda (Howard) Sowers of Edgewater.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas Jones; a brother, George Evans; her parents, Walter and Virdie Evans; and an infant daughter, Martha Sue Warren.

Mrs. Jones retired from the Department of Transportation in Troy.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile.

Memorials may be made to the Morning View Baptist Church or the Humane Society.
