The Charles Henderson Trojans girl’s team was looking for an opportunity to extend their season in Ozark against the Eufaula Lady Tigers. Cold shooting and foul trouble plagued the efforts of the ladies as they fell 65-28 in their season finale.

The Trojans and Tigers both seemed uncomfortable from the outset with their surroundings in the Ozark Civic Center as both teams struggled with their shooting touch. The first basket of the evening for Troy was a three point shot made by Mikensy Darby at the 2:25 mark of the first quarter. The period ended with a basket by Tajianah Brundidge and a nine point deficit to EHS at 14 – 5.

To make matters worse for the Trojans one of main players was on the bench. Jovia Porter had already committed three fouls before the first period ended which seemed to hamper the efforts of CHHS. Especially this seemed to be true against the EHS constant pressure defense.

The second quarter began with Charles Henderson cutting the lead to 18-11 on a Tysheria Ryles basket. Eufaula went on an 11 – 4 run to close out the half up by a margin of 29 – 13.

The third quarter saw only India Blakely dent the scoring column for CHHS while Eufaula continued to apply successful pressure defense. Porter picked up her fourth foul 26 seconds into the third quarter and once again was forced to sit out. EHS extended their margin to 46-19 after three quarters.

The fourth quarter saw the Trojans have their best offensive output for the evening but to no avail. The Tigers continued to extend the lead throughout for the final margin of victory.

Blakely led the Trojans with 10 points while Darby chipped in eight points and Brundidge and Camille Martin contributed four each.
