Jean Youngblood Avirett

Jean Youngblood Avirett, age 84, of Troy, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Perry Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Lebanon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation was held Monday, February 6, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Avirett is survived by her husband, Wayne H. Avirett; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Johnson of Troy; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Alice Avirett of Theodore; grandchildren, Russell (Morgan) Johnson, Sarah Johnson and Sabrina (Mike) Pulliam; three great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Virginia, Lena and Marilyn(Dick). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshal and Lucille Youngblood, and her brother, Rev. Joseph Youngblood.

Active pallbearers will be David Gibson, Lewis Fannin, Russell Johnson, John Nunnelee, Kent Hodge, and Jerry Spivey. Memorial may be made to the Old Lebanon Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer Foundation,
