Wlliam Shelby Gay

William Shelby Gay of Banks, AL. passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at Noland Hospital in Dothan, AL. He was 75. Funeral services for William Shelby Gay were held Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Clifford Matthews officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.  The family received friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Visitation for William Shelby Gay was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Gay was born October 8, 1936 in Andalusia, son of the late Clifton William Gay and Hassie Melzania Adams Gay. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gay; son, David Gay; and two sisters, Lillie Peters and Diane Gay. He is survived by a two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph (Deborah) Gay, Louisville and Shelby (Dianna) Gay, Banks; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy (Chuck) Adams, Troy; Frankie Gay, Banks; Christy (Gerry) Symington, Northwood, OH; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; five sisters and their husbands, Kathleen (James) Jordan, Helen Lee and Lena Merle Harrelson, all of Troy, Mary (Randy) Gay, Chiefland, FL; and Linda Sue (Malcom) Hurst, GA.

Serving as pallbearers were William Gay, Cody Gay, Dustin Gay, Trenton Turman, Michael Adams, Weylin Turman and Shane Moser. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
