James Royce Blackmon

James Royce Blackmon, age 75, of Glenwood, died Wednesday, January 15, 2012 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow the Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hughes Blackmon of Glenwood; his children, Patricia Blackmon (Charles) Bedingfield of Lake Martin, Jimmy (Judy) Blackmon of Luverne, Timmy (Stephanie) Blackmon of Glenwood, and Jeffrey (Sherrie) Blackmon of Fleetwood; his grandchildren, Christy (Matthew) Owen, Ashley Bryan, Courtney Blackmon, Mackenzie Blackmon, Chris (April) Blackmon, Brian (Mandy) Blackmon, Russ (Kasey) Bedingfield, and Cooper Blackmon; eleven great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Abigail (Dutson) Furr, Lauris (Willie) Dolloff, Barbara Jean (Alton) Mitchell, Ronnie (June) Blackmon, John (Myra) Blackmon and Patsy (Bobby) Owens, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Warren Flowers

Mary Warren Flowers, 76, a resident of Prattville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. from Prattville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Earl Wise, Rev. Gary Burton and Rev. Larry Layne officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.

Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mamie Warren; one brother, Joe Warren; a sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Junior Williams; and two brothers-in-law, John Jones and Sam Phipps. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William A. Flowers; two daughters, Angie Flowers and Nelda Sorrells (Kenny); two sons, Bill Flowers (Renee) and Joe Flowers (Deede); two sisters, Martha Jones and Margaret Phipps; one brother, Charles Warren (Sandra); seven grandchildren, Martin Jackson (Jamie), Matthew Sorrells, Tori, Nikki, Audrey, Madison and Cameron Flowers; three great-grandchildren, Dorsett and Sumner Jackson and Seth Flowers. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, extended family and friends. Mrs. Flowers served many years as Church Secretary at Crestview Baptist Church in Prattville.

Spencer Sled Burkett

Spencer Sled Burkett, age 62, of Troy, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Dothan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Perry Green and Dr. John McVay officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Montney W. Burkett; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Daniel Reeves of Troy; stepchildren, Rachael Lindsey (Kent) Brooks and Robert Duncan (Jennifer Dunn) Lindsey; a sister; Iris (Fred) Fink; a brother, Dale (Iris) Burkett; step grandchildren, Alex and Houston Tillery, Evie Kate and Dunn Lindsey; a niece; Maire Catlin Burkett; and a nephew, John Spencer Burkett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Burkett; and a niece, Jennifer Elaine Covan.
