Austin Prescott

Austin Prescott, age 83, of Troy, died Friday, January 27, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Dwayne Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janett Prescott of Troy; his children, Janice Prescott (Warren Simons) of New York, Vicki (Tim) Cumuze of Pelham, Terry Prescott of Brooklyn, NY, Craig Prescott of Coconut Creek, FL; sister, Joyce Prescott of Troy; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Byron (Ann) Prescott of Wetumpka and Edward (Ann) Prescott of Fitzpatrick; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alto and Ida Prescott, and a brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Margie Prescott.

Active pallbearers will be his great nephews, Justin and Josh Prescott, and the Deacons of Bush Memorial Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be the John Teal Sunday School Class at Bush Memorial and the McDonald’s afternoon coffee club.
