Need to find a location on Troy University’s campus, or look up faculty contact information? Now there’s an app for that.

The university has unveiled a free mobile application that is currently available for trademarked Apple products with Android and Blackberry versions on the way.

“This app is designed to help students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Troy University by providing much of the information they need at their fingertips,” said Ronnie Creel, Director of Education Technology for eTroy, the University’s distance learning division.

The app will provide academic course information, campus maps, university news and athletic information and will enable students to work in online classes.

“Our goal was to develop a practical app that would help a wide range of constituents,” Creel said.

The application will also host a faculty and staff directory with telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.

A committee made up of Department of Educational Technology and Office of Marketing personnel began the app development in June.
