Warrant issued in armed robbery

Troy Police are searching for the man they say robbed a resident at gunpoint two days before Christmas.

George McPherson, 33, of Ramer and now believed to be living in Troy, has been charged with robbery first degree and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. His bond, when arrested, will be set at $100,000.

Sgt. Benny Scarbrough said McPherson is charged with robbing a resident of the Hlllside Mobile Park at gunpoint at approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 23.

“McPherson approached the victim … at gunpoint and demanded money from him,” Scarbrough said. “An undisclosed amount of money was taken.”

McPherson then fled the scene on foot, according to Scarbrough.

“Officers attempted to make contact with McPherson but were unable to locate him,” Scarbrough said.
