Head-on collision sends 4 to hospital

One person was airlifted with critical injuries and three others were treated locally for injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night.

The wreck happened about 9:45 p.m. on U.S. 231, just south of Troy, according to Alabama State Trooper Greg Eubanks.

Latonya Cannon, 20, of Goshen, was driving north and entered the southbound lane of traffic. Her 2002 Jaguar X-Type collided with a 2002 Honda Accord that was traveling south.

Cannon and her passenger, Lakeria Flowers, 20, of Brundidge, were taken to Troy Regional Medial Center for treatment.

Julie McClure, 27, of Pensacola, Fla. was critically injured and transported by Life Flight to Baptist South in Montgomery and then to UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Her passenger, Michael McClure, 23, also of Pensacola, was treated at the Troy Regional Medical Center.

No charges have been filed, at this time. The crash is under investigation by state troopers.
