Police confirm armed robbery in Troy

A resident at Suntrace Mobile Home Park was threatened with a weapon and robbed Friday morning, according to Troy police.

Lawmen responded to an armed robbery call about 9 a.m. at the mobile home park on U.S Hwy. 231.

A black male entered an occupied mobile home and demanded money from the victim with a weapon. Although police have not released what that weapon was, Sgt. Benny Scarborogh did say it was a sharp metal object.

The suspect fled the mobile home on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and other items belonging to the victim. He was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans and is reportedly about 6 feet tall and weighs about 185 lbs.

Detectives are following up on leads and keeping quiet about specific details because the case is still under investigation.
