“What I can bring to the county commission is youth and a business mind,” said Vann, who is an agent with Vann Insurance Group in Troy. “I also have some experience with politics, having served as the county chairman for Dr. Robert Bentley’s gubernatorial campaign.”

Vann said that finances are the major issue before the county commission.

“The economy is not getting better,” he said. “We are not through the storm and my business experience will be beneficial as the commission deals with budgetary issues.”

Vann said it his belief that pubic service is a calling and he believes that he has been called to serve.

“Public service is not about the money. It’s about serving the county where I have grown up and the people that are friends and neighbors,” he said. “I would consider it an honor to serve and to help move the county in the direction that it needs to go.

“I’m not a politician. I want to serve as a county commissioner because I believe it is the right thing for me to do. I will serve at the people’s will.”

Vann is at 1995 graduate of Charles Henderson High School and a 2000 graduate of Troy University.
