Donald Jerone Brewer

Mr. Donald Jerone (DJ) Brewer, age 74, a resident of Troy, died Thursday, December 1, 2011. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Hephzibah Baptist Church with Reverends Rick Hayes and Johnny Roberts officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Mr. Brewer will lie-in-state from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife: Pennie E. Brewer, son: Ricky Brewer (Ann), daughter: Denise Stokes (Larry), 4 grandchildren: Amy B. Hawkins, Nicole S. McWaters (Josh), Andy Brewer, Bryant Stokes; 2 great-grandchildren: Aicey Hawkins and Cally McWaters; mother: Kate R. Brodhage; 3 sisters-in-law: Maxine Johnson, Ollie Kate Strickland, Euna Faye Wise; 2 aunts: Katherine Brewer, Charlotte Breser; 2 special friends: Ed and Becky Barron; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Louie F. Brewer.

Mrs. Brewer was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant and worked at Sanders Lead Company for 24 years after leaving the Air Force.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial my be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation.
