Violet Lorraine Wilburn

Mrs. Violet Lorraine Wilburn, formerly of Troy, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Country Cottage Assisted Living Residence in Montgomery. She was 77. Graveside services for Mrs. Violet Wilburn will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain John Hardin officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Troy.

Mrs. Wilburn was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Wilburn. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law; Pamela Greene, Seminole, OK and Starlene (Michael) Hudspeth, Clermont, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Louis I. “Buddy” (Melody) Wilburn, Montgomery, AL; three grandchildren, David Greene, Traci (Wil) Horrach and Curtis Greene; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Care of Montgomery staff, Linda Goodwin, George Cumuze, Susan Atcheson and Jessica Senn, the Country Cottage Assisted Living Residence staff, Becky Page, Teresa Develasco, Amanda Gulledge, Eula Lowder, Doris Stewart, Mary McCloud, Natasha Lions, Victoria Farrow, Shirley Pounder and Sharon Moore for all the loving care that they provided over the past five months. Thanks to all the wonderful ladies residing in Magnolia Cottage at County Cottage Assisted Living Residence for the friendship, encouragement and companionship. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Hospice Care of Montgomery, 4150 Carmichael Court, Montgomery, AL 36132.
