Sara Shields

Sara (Sally) Isie Shields was born October 20, 1953 in Birmingham and passed away at home on October 31, 2011. She was the daughter of Louis Vernon Shields and Annelle Dickert Shields.

Services for Sally Shields will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Brundidge United Methodist Church in Brundidge with Harry Walls officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m., at the church. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge.

She is survived by her mother; two brothers, Louis Vernon Shields of Middleburg, VA and Fred Dickert Shields of Vestavia Hills, AL; three nieces, Lela Catherine Shields of Fairfax, CA, Jessica Fae Shields of Washington D.C. and Rachel Elaine Shields of Vestavia, AL; and one nephew, Jonathan Louis Shields of Montevallo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sally’s memory may be made to the “Widows Might”, a ministry of Widows Helping Widows at Shades Mountain Independent Church, 2281 Old Tyler Road, Birmingham, AL. Services are under the direction of Thrash-Keahey Funeral Home of Brundidge.
