Lucille Powell

Lucille Powell, age 94, a resident of Troy, died Friday, November 04, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Goodhope Baptist Church with the Reverends W.O. Sanders, Wayne Locklar and Rick Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Mrs. Powell will lie-in-state from 1:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her children, Mary Grissett of Troy, Margaret McQuagge of Troy, William “Billy” Powell and his wife Patsy Matthews Powell, Barbara Hocutt and her husband James of Blackstone, VA and Robert Powell and his wife Carolyn of Troy; her sister, Amy Viola McLendon and her husband William of Troy; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces; nephews and other family.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Purvis O. Powell, and 2 brothers, James and Clayton Sessions.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Powell, Ryan Powell, Drew Powell, Terry McQuagge, Scott McQuagge and Rudy Cordle. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Powell, Tony McQuagge and Jeffery McQuagge. To sign the online register book, please visit our website at www.dillardfh.com
