Patriots shock No.2 Tuscaloosa Academy on road

TUSCALOOSA – Pike Liberal Arts won’t be making an appearance in the playoffs this season but that doesn’t mean they can’t make the lives of those who are a less enjoyable along the way.
The Patriots knocked off the second ranked Tuscaloosa Academy Knights on the road Friday night, 27-14.
Tuscaloosa was in search of their first ever undefeated season.
The Knights opened the scoring with a 59-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. Pike would move the ball to the Knights 10 but threw and interception to end the threat.
TA took a 14-0 lead on a 79-yard coring pass and catch.
Pike responded with a 24-yard touchdown catch by Ross Herring.
Tyler Rotten sacked the Knights quarterback in the fourth quarter, forcing and recovering a fumble. Nick McLaughlin later scored on a 2-yard run to give the Patriots the 27-14 advantage.
The Knights outgained Pike 231-229 in total offense for the game.
