Vehicle crash claims life of Troy man

A single-vehicle crash Sunday night in Pike County claimed the life of a Troy man. The crash occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Pike County 3345, one-half mile east of Alabama 167. James Larry Johnson, 62, of Troy was driving his 2006 GMC Sierra when he lost control, ran off the road and struck a tree. Johnson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.
No further information is available at this time. The crash is being investigated by the Alabama State Troopers.
