Senior Adults are special and nowhere are they more special than at the Colley Senior Complex in Troy.
So special that extra and special events have been planned for the seniors during the month of September.
The Complex sponsored a health fair at the beginning of the month and a record number of seniors attended. With such an incredible beginning to “Seniors Month,” Janet Motes, Complex director, said an equally fantastic event would have to be planned to close out the special recognition month. And, what better than another Blues and Barbecue night?
So, on Thursday night Jim Bell and the All-Stars will be at the Colley Senior Complex and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a night of some of the best blues ever played by Jim Bell and the All-Stars and some of the best barbecue ever cooked by Chef Raymond Sexton.
The blues will begin at 6 p.m. and the barbecue supper will be served around 7 p.m.
The Blues and Barbecue event will be held in the backyard of the Colley Senior Complex Annex. And, Motes said that, if you want to get up and dance, “get up and dance.”
“It will be a fun night and it’s free so we hope that everyone will join us for this night of Blues and Barbecue,” she said.
The Colley Senior Complex Outdoor Movie Night last week was postponed due to rain. The movie night has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4.
The movie will be “The Blind Side.”
There will be popcorn and drinks to add to the enjoyment of the movie. So, bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a good movie with friends and neighbors.
So, Motes said to plan now to attend these special events at the Colley Senior Complex.
