The Trojans are 6-8-1 all-time against the Rams but, baring turnovers, have the ball-controlling type of offence needed to slow down the Valley attack.

Pike Liberal Arts at Ashford Academy

The Patriots will pay a visit to Layton Field in Ashford for the first time since 1999.

Pike will play the part of the Falcons homecoming opponent but will look to improve upon their 6-13-1 all-time record against the Falcons.

First-year Ashford head coach Mack Williams is all to familiar with his opponents ahving served as the Patriots general from 2001-2003

New Brockton at Goshen

Both teams are looking for a win to stay in the midst of the Class 2A Region 2 playoff race. Both are 1-1 in region play and the Eagles are improving by leaps and bounds every week.

The Gamcocks have produced a 12-7 record against Goshen throughout history but the Eagles came away victorious last season 33-12.

Reginald Foster will be looked upon to carry the load for Goshen but defense will be key as the Eagles must slow down the Gamecocks spread attack.

Abbeville at Pike County

The Bulldogs are still looking for their first win of 2011 and it won’t come easy in Week 4.

Pike County did defeat the Yellow Jackets 45-30 last season but Abbeville comes in as one of the most improved teams in the area and with a 2-0 region record will be looking to lock up a playoff berth as quickly as possible.

Don’t look for the Bulldogs to go quietly in front of their home crowd, however.

Zion Chapel at Highland Home

Zion Chapel looks to bounce back from a disappointing 17-13 loss to Samson last week.

The Rebels have their hands full, however, as the Flying Squadron are 2-0 in region play with no signs of slowing down.

Zion Chapel lost this game in a heartbreaker, 23-22 last season.

Look for this matchup to have the most exciting action of the week.
