James Raymond Anderson

James Raymond Anderson, age 82, of Kingston Springs passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 4, 2011. Mr. Anderson was a loving, friendly, selfless man that never met a stranger. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Troy for 19 years. He enjoyed working with wood, gardening, fishing and being a handyman.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Bryant Anderson and Eunice Roe Anderson; brother, Herman Anderson; and grandson, Jon Gettle. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie McDonald Anderson; children, Cathy Gettle (Mike), Dr. Reggie Anderson (Karen) and Tim Anderson (Karen); Grandchildren, Jenn LaVigne (Nick) of Wyoming, MI, Kristen Kernaghan (David) of Belfast, Ireland, Ashley McCarthy (Ciaran) of Los Angeles, CA, Julia Chapman (Caleb) of Franklin, TN, David Anderson of Birmingham, AL, Lauren Anderson of Auburn, AL and Amanda Anderson of Huntsville, AL; sisters, Loyce Sexson of Montgomery, AL and Joyce McCall of Columbia, TN; brother, Clyde Anderson of Huntsville, AL.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
