Emma Gardner

Mrs. Emma Gardner, age 87, of Troy, died Sunday, August 21, 2011. Funeral services for Mrs. Gardner, will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Locklar and Rev. W.O. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home and Wednesday, August 24, 2011 one hour prior to service at the church.

Mrs. Gardner was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church for nearly 70 yrs.

Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her father, Jim Brooks; mother, Opie Brooks and brother, Herman Brooks. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Hillis Gardner; one son, Larry Gardner (Louise) of Troy; one daughter, Karen G. Adams (Larry) of Troy; four brothers, Damon Brooks of Troy; Orin Brooks (Sandra) of Tampa, FL; Huey Brooks (Nanette) of Lake Charles, LA; Sherrill Brooks (Sara) of Riverdale, GA; two sisters, Gladys Spivey of Troy; Felecia Boutwell (Max) of Molena, GA; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Scott Adams, Jamie Adams, Kenneth Adams, Jason Adams, Clayton Rhodes and Drew Adams.
