Many area teams are putting the final touches on preparations for their jamboree games on Friday. While the battle between Pike County and Charles Henderson is always a fan favorite in the area, several other teams will strap on the hardware to find out what they can expect in 2011. All games will be played at 7p.m.
Ariton at Goshen
Goshen will have their run defense tested against the Purple Cats. The Eagles will look to work their aerial attack and find a solid back-up for Reginald Foster at running back. The Eagles need to find help at linebacker as well.
Pike County at Charles Henderson
Always an interesting match-up. Both teams will probably be very vanilla with their offenses but the adrenaline will most definitely be pumping. Charles Henderson will give Courtney Downing plenty on carries while Pike County will see just how many athletes they have by dispersing the ball.
Pike Liberal Arts at Crenshaw Christian
Patriots head coach Steven Kilcrease has some questions that need to been answered on the offensive line. Pike will utilize multiple quarterbacks but don’t expect to see Josh Starling take many snaps as he is recovering from an ankle injury.
Wicksburg at Zion Chapel
Zion Chapel has a beefy offensive line that can create space for the Rebels skill players. The question mark for Zion Chapel is how physical can they be which will be a much needed skill set if the Rebels want to make the playoffs in 2A.
