James D. Ginyard

James D. Ginyard, Sr. of Troy passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011. Services will be held Saturday, August 13th at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Troy with Pastor, Dr. L. C. McMillian, officiating and George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Ginyard was born August 27, 1932 as the fifth child of the late Moses Ginyard, Sr., and the late Susan Ginyard. He attended school in the Pike County area. He worked for Pinckard Vault Company for several years. Later, he worked and retired from Sanders Lead Company in Troy. He received Christ under the leadership of Dr. L. C. McMillian at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Ginyard was preceded in death by his parents, Moses Ginyard, Sr., and Susan Ginyard; his wife, Flossie M. Ginyard; his brothers, Moses Ginyard, Jr., Aaron Ginyard and E. L. Ginyard; and his sister, Esther Russell.

Leaving to cherish his loving and fond memories are five sons, Clevesta (Vivian) White, Sr. of San Diego, CA, James Ginyard, Jr. of Troy, Willie Ray Ginyard of Troy, Willie Arthur (Felecia) Ginyard of Georgiana and Douglas Ginyard of Enterprise; four daughters, Ann Tanner of Enterprise, Claretha (Ezekiel) Potts of Troy, Cathy Ginyard of Troy and Cynthia (James) Thomas of Troy; two sisters, Mattie Lou Reynolds of Troy and Pearl Mitchell of Troy; thirteen grandchildren, Flossie K. White of San Diego, CA, Sabrina (Travis) Bean of Dothan, Damelsa White, Chicago, IL, Monica Ginyard of Troy, Clevesta White, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Christopher White of San Diego, CA, Verita White of Jackson, MS, Reginald Ginyard of Troy, Jessica Ginyard of Troy, Johnathan Ginyard of Troy, Stella Ginyard of Jacksonville, FL, Taylor Thomas of Troy and Deseree Ginyard of Georgiana; seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and two devoted friends, Mickey Deveridge and Robert L. Wilson.
