Troy Crush finish second in tourney

Seven of Troy’s Dixie Angel softball players who finished third in the Dixie State Tournament just a few short weeks ago participated in the Central Alabama Rumble fast pitch tournament in Wetumpka last weekend. Their team, known as Troy Crush, brought home second place losing to LA Smooth from Dothan in the championship game. Troy finished with a 4-1 record for the tournament.

Offensively, Troy was led by Molly Kate Sanders, who was 4-for-7 for the tournament. Sabra Daniles inished 3-for-6. Sidney Armstrong, Bailey Rushing, & Kelsy Gibson all had two singles. Alyssa English picked up a single and a triple. Sydni Garrett, Haylee Hollingshead, and Tucker Earles also had hits for Troy.

In the circle, Mya Terry, Sydni Garrett, Sabra Daniels, Molly Kate Sanders, and Haylee Hollingshead all pitching an inning over the weekend. Bailey Rushing was the team’s workhorse, pitching a complete game and picked up the win against the eventual champions. Rushing would enter the championship game against LA Smooth in the third inning to halt a rally. Troy would eventually fall in the championship game, 7-3.
