Troy Nationals defeat Americans

ZION CHAPEL – In a game that took nearly 24 hours to complete, Troy National defeated Troy American, 6-5, in Geneva Wednesday night.

Lawson Scarbrough got things started for the Americans when he drove in Cody Hollis and De’Quavian Toney in the first.

Noah Lowery tied thing up for the Nationals with a 2-RBI hit of his own. Chance Polland and Daniel Phillips both scored.

The Americans would take the lead again in the second, 4-2, on a Jackson Giles RBI triple.

Once again, the Nationals would answer, this time, on a Laertis Brantley inside-the-park homerun.

In the third, the Nationals would claim their first lead of the game, 5-4, when Phillips would drive in Pollard and Brock Huner.

After the Americans tied things up at 5, the Nationals scored in the bottom of the fifth to Huner closed the door on the mound in the sixth.

With the win, Troy Nationals will play Eufaula at 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Troy Americans will take on Geneva at 6 p.m.
