Mary Spivey Baker

Mary (Mamay) Spivey Baker of the Screamer community on Lake Eufaula passed away at Gulf Coast Medical Center on May 8, 2011, after spending her granddaughter’s wedding weekend with all of her children and their families. She was 74 years old.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Green Hills Cemetery with Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home directing.

Mamay was born in Troy, AL, on September 22, 1936. She graduated from Troy High School. In her later years, she most loved to work crossword puzzles, play solitaire and Scrabble online and talk on the phone to her friends and family when she wasn’t busy cooking. She will most be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all of her beloved family and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Fletcher Matthew Spivey and Annie Lucille Jackson Spivey; and three brothers, Fletcher Matthew Spivey, Jr., Jimmy Spivey, and Jack Olin Spivey.
She is survived by her three children Ellane Schofield Singletary (Ronnie), David Lane Schofield, and William Matthew Schofield (Camille); by sisters Ann Howard (Jim), Edna Flowers, and Jean Spivey; by brothers Ricky Spivey (Betty) and Max Spivey; by grandchildren, Miranda Greer Wade (Clint) of Dothan, Jessica Schofield of Athens, GA; Malia and Brianna Schofield of York, SC; by great-granddaughter, Hadley Harper Wade; and by various nieces and nephews.
