Esther Watkins

Mrs. Esther Watkins, age 94, of Troy, Alabama, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

Funeral services for Mrs. Watkins will be held Friday, April 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Hephzibah Baptist Church with Reverends Greg Aman and Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Watkins will be Thursday, April 28, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, William Cecil Watkins, Sr.; two sons, LCpl Joel Keith Watkins and W.C. Watkins, Jr.; one daughter, Ann Johnson; one grandson, William Chase Johnson; and one granddaughter, Haley Flowers. She is survived by three daughters, Willie Mae Turner (James), Carolyn Shehee and Louise Gardner (Larry); one daughter-in-law, Nell Watkins; two sons, David Watkins

(Robbie) and Paul Watkins (Beth); one son-in-law, Don Johnson; one sister, Lois Lott of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and special friend, Brenda Stradley.

Mrs. Watkins’ grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the Breemans Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In Mrs. Watkins’ honor, donations may be made to the Cecil Watkins Hephzibah Church Cemetery Fund.
