The Patriots of Pike Liberal Arts traveled to Prattville to take on the Generals of Autauga Academy Thursday afternoon.

There, the visiting team would find itself in a little bit of a dogfight, as Autauga came prepared and ready to win.

While the Patriots were able to get by with a 10-6 victory, it was not an easy one.

On the mound for the Patriots was junior Josh Starling.

Though the right-hander threw a complete game, the Generals scored six runs off of seven hits and five walks.

Starling did finish with five strikeouts however.

At the plate, PLAS used the long ball, once again, to secure the victory.

Chandler Avant and Sam Carroll both went deep, as the shortstop hit a solo home run and the first baseman hit a two-run homer.

Avant finished 3-for-4, with a double and 2 RBIs as well.

Nick McLaughlin finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

This was third-straight game or series the Patriots faced off with a ranked opponent.

Each of those times, PLAS has come away victorious, as the win improves the No. 3 ranked team in the AISA to 24-3 on the season.

The Patriots will be back in action again on Saturday, as the team heads to Hoopers Academy for a double header.
