Mr. William “Bill” Finley Golden of Banks, Alabama, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 76. Funeral services for William “Bill” Finley Golden will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. J.C. Turner and Rev. Wiley McWhorter officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Banks, AL, with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. He will lie in state at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Visitation for Mr. Golden was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. Mr. William “Bill” Finley Golden was born Monday, November 26, 1934 in Russell County, Phenix City, Alabama, son of the late Irvin Buel and Lula Pearl Ming Golden. Mr. Golden was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He also was an aircraft and automotive mechanic. Survivors include his wife: Julia Golden, Banks; son and daughter-in-law: Lawrence (Angie) Golden, Ebenezer Community; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Linda Golden, Banks; Annette (Jamey) Williams, Clayton; Anita (Brian) Brown, Pike Road; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Douglas (Wanda) Golden, Linwood; Robert (Elaine) Golden, Montgomery; sister-in-law: Myra Golden, Montgomery; 6 grandchildren and spouse: Trae Brown, Alex (Katti) Golden, Charlie Golden, Brittany Golden, John Williams and Ben Williams; great granddaughter: Karly Golden; 2 step grandchildren: Randy and Amanda Jordan; aunt: Mary Ming, Banks; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Buel and Lula Pearl Ming Golden, brother, Ray Golden, infant brother and a sister Doris Golden. Serving as active pallbearers will be Alex Golden, Doug Golden, Jr., Terry Messick, Keith Williams, Danny Sanders and Micheal Best.
