The Brundidge City Council will conduct two meetings today at Brundidge Station and the public is encouraged to attend both.
At 3 p.m. the council, the city’s strategic planning committee and planning commission will meet to hear an overview of the draft of the city’s long range strategic plan.
Britt Thomas, city manager, said Tracy Delaney of the South Central Alabama Commission, will provide the overview of the draft.
“Her presentation will last about an hour and will include a PowerPoint presentation,” Thomas said. “She will also entertain questions from the floor.”
The strategic planning commission, which is made up of Brundidge residents, began meeting about a year ago but took a break recently for Delaney to prepare the draft.
“This will actually close out the work that has been done on the strategic plan,” Thomas said.
At 4 p.m. the Brundidge City Council will go into session and the first order of business will be a public hearing on the draft. “The draft will be presented for the council to consider but no action will be taken,” Thomas said.
The strategic plan was funded through a $35,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). The cost to the city was less than $2,000, Thomas said.
