Ruby Carroll Fredrick

Mrs. Ruby Carroll Fredrick, age 89, of Troy, died Thursday, January 27, 2011. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Dr. Ellis Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mrs. Fredrick is survived by her son, Samuel Rufus Fredrick and his close loving companion Terry Ryks of Troy; 2 granddaughters, Tiffany Lynn Fredrick and Kimberly Carol Fredrick both of Semmes, AL; sister-in-law, Elna Fredrick and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Carroll Dunn, Ben Dunn, Danny White, Jack Johnson, John Jackson and Wilson Carroll.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Nicolaidis, Olin Laney, Charles Giddens, Daniel White and Ray W. Floyd.

Mrs. Fredrick was born November 15th, 1921 in Pike County, Alabama. The daughter of the late Rufus Victor Carroll and Annie Maye Tillman Carroll. She was preceded in death by her husband Ewell Franklin Fredrick, two brothers, Tillman F. Carroll and Carvel W. Carroll and two sisters, Velma Smith and Myrtle Dunn.

Mrs. Fredrick was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Troy. Her church family meant so much to her. She greeted family and friends with sweet smiles, when they came to visit. She always remembered family with birthday cards through the years.

She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was the secretary at Charles Henderson Middle School for many years.

The family of Mrs. Fredrick would like to express their appreciation to the Reverend Craig Holmes for his ministry to Mrs. Fredrick.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
