The Concert at the Studio Series will present the annual Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. today at The Studio on East Walnut Street in downtown Troy.

The Holiday Concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature Jim Zingara and the Troy Brass, which is made up of Troy University faculty members and former students.

The Holiday Concert will feature favorite carols of Christmas, popular holiday favorites and classical seasonal songs.

“This is the sixth year for the Holiday Concerts, which are offered as gifts to the community,” said Wiley White, Johnson Center for the Arts development director. “The ‘Concerts at the Studio’ have become increasingly popular among all ages, from young to older. The Holiday Concert is one of the most popular because of the variety of seasonal music the Troy Brass plays – everything from ‘Jingle Bells’ to the Christmas classics. There is something for everyone.”

There will be a short intermission and light refreshments will be available.

“The intermission provides a time for fellowship and interaction with the musicians,” White said. “The musicians give so generously of their time and talent and those who attend the concerts appreciate the opportunity to tell them so.”

White said the Holiday Concert is a community wide event and everyone is invited to take this opportunity to share in the holiday spirit with friends and neighbors.

The studio usage is provided by Corley Chapman Jr. in memory of Herman Moll, who was the director of bands for the Troy City Schools.

“We appreciate ‘Brother’ Chapman’s support and the recognition given to Herman Moll who played such a large part in the training of young musicians in Troy many years ago,” White said.
