Three men arrested for burglary

Three men were arrested this week within minutes of two suspected burglaries.

In the first incident, a Troy Police officer observed a suspect removing a television from an apartment at the Elm Park Apartments on Elm Street about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

“The lights were still on, exhaust was coming out of the tailpipe and the rear driver’s side door was open,” said Sgt. Benny Scarbrough of the Troy Police Department.

The patrol officer radioed for help and followed the suspect, who drove his vehicle back downtown and around to Academy Street and eventually Elm Street again.

When backup arrived, the suspect was arrested in the parking lot of the tennis courts on Elm Street, Scarbrough said. “He was arrested within minutes of the burglary.”

After investigating, officers discovered that a college student’s apartment at the complex had been burglarized. “Property had been taken and that property was recovered,” Scarbrough said.

Littreal Tyrone Wright, 33, of Troy, was charged with burglary third degree and was being held in the Pike County Jail on $5,000 bond. On Monday, police responded to a report of a burglary at Troy Place Apartments on Gibbs Street around 10:40 a.m.

“On the way, the encountered two black male suspects, and a foot chase ensued,” Scarbrough said.

The suspects were arrest after a “short pursuit.

Quintavious Martez Clark, 18, of Troy, and Lavaris Octavious Rawlinson, 18, of Montgomery, were charged with burglary third degree and each man was being held on a $10,000 bond in the Pike County Jail.

Scarbrough said two laptop computers were recovered, one of which had been reported stolen in the burglary.
