The Pike Animal Shelter’s “Bow-Wow Pow-Wow Adoption day is Saturday and some really great dogs are wishing for a forever home this Christmas season.
The Bow-Wow Pow-Wow will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. next to Sears and those who are considering giving a dog a home are encouraged to stop by and perhaps find a “best friend” waiting there.
Kristin Strickland, Pike Animal Shelter public relations coordinator, said several dogs need homes as soon as possible and what better time to offer an abandoned pup a place in your home and in your heart than at Christmastime.
“The Pow-Wow Pow-Wow will be an exciting day of fur and fun,” Strickland said. “And it will also be a day of fundraising for the Pike Animal Shelter because Sears will donate 2 percent of its entire day’s proceeds to the shelter.”
The Pike Animal Shelter Cookbook will be available for purchase at the Bow-Wow Pow-Wow.
“The cookbook is $10 and contains more than 200 recipes and includes favorite Southern classics and wild game and fish recipes,” Strickland said.
“The cookbooks make great gifts and are something that people will enjoy getting under the Christmas tree.”
The Pike Animal Shelter Cookbooks are also available by contacting info@pikeanimals.org
The Pike Animal Shelter/Troy Animal Shelter Coalition continues its fundraising efforts to build a state-of-the-art animal shelter in Troy, through a Boston butt sale.
“The Pike Animal Shelter is now taking pre-orders for Boston butts,” Strickland said. “They are $20 and will be available for pickup from Sears the first part of December.
The Boston Butts are guaranteed fresh and this is a great opportunity to stock up for your holiday guests. So, stop by Sears and reserve a Boston butt for the holidays.”
