The Rev. Daniel E. Williams of Troy died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Troy Regional Medical Center. He was 97. Funeral services for Rev. Daniel E. Williams will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Bush Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Kahlbau and Rev. W.O. Sanders officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at 5:00 p.m. (EST) at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Double Churches Road, Columbus, GA. with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Rev. Dan E. Williams was born October 13, 1913 in Fleetwood Community, Pike County, son of the late Bert Ollie and Lillie Warren Williams. Rev. Williams died after a long and fruitful life in service to the Lord. He touched countless lives as he ministered numerous churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. He began his ministry in 1957 after he graduated from Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, Fl. Rev. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Bert Ollie and Lillie Warren Williams, his wife, Audrey Mae Johnson Williams, and a sister, Sarah Powell. Survivors include a son: Daniel Eugene Williams, Troy; daughter and son-in-law: Gail (Don) Holley, Troy; 3 grandchildren: Cindy Kimberly, San Antonio, TX; Angie Hammond and Michael Holley, both of Troy; 4 great grandchildren: Jonathan Kimberly, Colorado Springs, CO; Christopher, Zachary and Holley Hammond, all of Peachtree City, GA. Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Bracewell, Wallace Storey, Daniel Warren, Ken Herring, Kirk Hammond, Col. Harry Kimberly III, 3 great grandsons, Cadet 1st Class Jonathan Kimberly, Christopher and Zachary Hammond. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the John Teal Sunday School Class of Bush Memorial Baptist Church.
