James Michael Powell, age 52 a resident of Troy died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverends Burney Enzor, Clifford Matthews and Wes Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Powell is survived by his wife Jeanette Riley Powell of Troy, daughter Priscella Lott of Troy and her husband Dwayne, granddaughter Elizabeth Lott of Troy, mother Betty Powell of Troy, sister Gail Powell McDonald and her husband Bubba of Troy, brother David Powell and his wife Sharon of Troy, sister-in-law Sherell Riley of Troy, brother-in-law Lamar Riley and his wife Donna of Troy, father-in-law Charles H. Riley and his wife Nell of Troy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his father James Gafford Powell and his mother-in-law Dora Riley.

The pallbearers will be the deacons of Northside Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Troy University.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Northside Baptist Church.
