Delatha Mobley, club member, said recipes entered in the contest must contain at least a half-cup of peanut butter.

“Any brand or type of peanut butter is acceptable” Mobley said. “The recipe does not have to be original.”

There are five categories of competition — candy, cookies, cake, pie and miscellaneous.

“Sixteen to 20 pieces of candy or cookies make an entry,” Mobley said. “A half or whole cake is an entry and a whole pie and a making of any other dish.”

The three entry divisions are youth, ages 9-18; adults 19 and older and professional.

“Each entry must have a copy of the complete recipe, neatly written or typed, on an index card or plain piece of paper,” Mobley said. “The category and divisions should be in the top right hand corner of the recipe. On the reverse sided, please include your name, complete mailing address and telephone number. Young people should also list their school, grade, age and homeroom teacher’s name.”

Entries should be delivered to Brundidge Station, across from the post office, before 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. “Each prepared recipe should be submitted for judging on a disposable container which will not be returned,” Mobley said. “Entries will be judged on taste appearance and uniqueness. All entries will submitted to a panel of judges and judging should be completed by 11 a.m.”

Winners in each category and division will be awarded prizes. Samples of the entries will be sold on the Festival grounds.”
