Funeral service for Herman Sellers Hussey, 81, will be Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Dr. Michael Trull officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Childersburg, Alabama.

Mr. Hussey died Monday, October 18, 2010 at his residence. He was a longtime businessman in Sylacauga and Childersburg. He was an assistant Manager of A&P in Sylacauga and was owner of Herman’s Big Star in Childersburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue C. Hussey.

He is survived by wife, Faye Hussey of Sylacauga; sons, Michael Hussey, wife Emily of Verbena and Charles Mitchell, wife Melanie of Sylacauga; daughter, Kay Sprayberry, husband Paul of Sylacauga; brother, Travis Hussey of Troy; nephew, Tim Hussey of Troy; extended family, Robert, Ann and Jourdan Cunningham, Mike, Shelia and Hannah Phillips, Sammy, Bebe and Matt Andrews; grandchildren, Tony Hay, Adam Hay and Nicole Mitchell and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 5:30 until 8 p.m.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Building Fund at Marble City Baptist Church.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Wiregrass Hospice and caregivers, Stephanie Stepanson and Michelle Messer.
