Addie Bean Taylor Murphy

Mrs. Addie Bean Taylor Murphy, 87, died Thursday at her home in the Needmore community.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family graveside will follow with the Rev. Mack King officiating.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Malon Eugene Murphy; her parents Needham Howell and Bessie Lee Flowers Taylor; brothers Howell Lee, Seth, Pasco, Windell, John, and Jack Taylor; and her sisters Sarah Taylor Griswald and Sue Taylor Gibson.

She is survived by a son Malon Ellis (Claire) Murphy; grand-daughters Meredith Murphy (Rhett) Tatum, Lesley Murphy (Jonathan) Shepherd, Kimberly Murphy Chrysson; her great-grandchildren Malon Nicklaus Chrysson, Camryn Taylor Chrysson, Ryan McNeal Green, and Jonathan David (J.D.) Shepherd; a brother, Paul (Jeanette) Taylor of Lawrenceville Ga.; a sister, Lorelle Jones of Montgomery; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy for 35 years and a member of “The Builders” Sunday school Class. She was a homemaker, business woman, mother, mentor, and friend. Roses were her passion.

The Builders Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Troy’s Benevolence fund.
