Coming off a bye-week due to graduation exams, the Goshen Eagles came into the current one looking to keep its winning ways going.

On Tuesday night, that is exactly what the team did against Red Level.

The Eagles cruised to victory, winning in four games, 25-19, 26-28, 25-8 and 25-11.

With the win, the team improved to 9-3 on the season and more importantly, 3-0 in area play.

“I thought our girls played good (Tuesday),” head coach Dee Hughes said.

“I was a little worried because of the week off, but the girls did a really good job, especially severing the ball.”

Leading the way for the Eagles was Devon Izzo and Ivia Pollord, who finished with 12 and 10 kills respectively.

Mary Jordan and Niyoka Slater also had big nights, finishing with 12 and nine aces a piece.

Now, GHS will prepare to hit the road as it will take on Pike County Thursday afternoon for the second time this season.

The Eagles lost to the Bulldogs the first time the two teams met up.

GHS will get back into area play next Tuesday against Highland Home.

With a win, the team will lock up the regular season area crown, and play host the upcoming area championship.

“I thought we did a lot of good things,” Hughes said.

“Once we got into our groove we hit the ball really well.”
