Mr. Everett Singleton of Ariton, AL. died Friday, September 17, 2010 at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy. He was 86. Funeral services for Everett Singleton will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at Zebulon Baptist Church in the Sandfield Community with Rev. Earl Oakes and Rev. Michael Alsup officiating. He will lie in state from 1:30-2:00 p.m. thirty minutes prior to service. Burial will follow in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Visitation for Mr. Singleton will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Skeen Funeral Home in Brundidge. Mr. Singleton was born March 15, 1924 in Barbour County, Alabama. He was a mechanic for 40 years, a farmer, and owned a store in the Sandfield Community for many years. Survivors include his wife: Nan Singleton, Ariton, AL; 5 sisters-in-law: Sara Barr, Annette Barr, Linda (Ray) Berry all of Brundidge, AL; Mary Barr and Elanor Barr both of Ariton, AL; 3 brothers-in- law: Charlie Barr, Ariton, AL; Jim Henry (Doris) Dease, Montgomery, AL; and Rev. Willie Otis Renfroe, Columbus, GA; nephew and wife: Dennis and Lanette Singleton, Troy, AL; 2 nieces and husband: Sybil (Farris) Austin and Louise Culpepper, both of Union Springs, AL; and many, many, friends who loved and cherished him.
