Melvin Ellis

Mr. Melvin Ellis, 79, of Brundidge, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Highway 231 in Coffee County with the Revs. Gerald Wilkes, Kenny Horn and Elmer Ellis officiating.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Thrash-Keahey Funeral Home in Brundidge. Mr. Ellis will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service on Friday.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gloria Kaye Ellis.

Survivors include his wife, Helen W. Ellis of Brundidge; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Myra G. Ellis of Brundidge; two grandsons, Brennan and Blake Ellis of Brundidge; two sisters, Mavis Lee and Carolyn Lee of Brundidge; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Weeks; and sisters-in-law, Alice Weeks and Linda Brown.
