The Troy Shrine Club again is sponsoring the Pike County Fair with the dates being Oct. 5-9 of this year. This year we have a new fair promoter, “Interstate Amusements of America” with a larger midway and some new, bigger and better rides. You who have been to our fair know that we sell an arm band for $18 which allows whomever buys one to ride any or all of the rides all night. This year, with the help of our fair promoter, we are able to presell these armbands at a tremendous savings.

The presale prices are:

• A one-night armband, prescale is $8 which is good for the nights of either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. This is a $10 savings.

• A Mega Pass, which is good for any and all nights of the fair, is only $39.99, which is a savings of $50.

These presale armbands coupons are available at any of the Piggly Wiggly stores in Troy and Brundidge and every Saturday morning at the Shrine Club office on U.S. 231.

In addition, this is a county fair and with that is something for everyone. We have the displays of crafts, paintings, baked and canned goods. Again, we are proud fo the animals and fowl on display in our cattle barn.

We also have some great entertainment in our pavillion. Tuesday night we have the Broken Srings and CB the Clown on the midway. Wednesday night we have the Alcazar Shrine Band and Johnny Barron and the Waterfall Children Band Showcase. Thursday is the She Bang Cloggers Dance Showcase. Friday is the Troy School of Dance and Arts and again Johnny Barron and the Waterfall Children Band. And thenSaturday we have The Classics, a big-time band with music for all ages.

All of this entertainment is included in the entry fee of $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 11 with gates opening each night at 6 p.m.

I’m asking you all to put these dates of Oct. 5 through Oct. 9 on your calendar and come out and join us at the Pike County Fair, a good time for all ages.
