Max Eugene Allums of Brundidge, Alabama was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 19, 2010. He was 68. Funeral services for Max Eugene Allums will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church. He will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Brundidge, with Pastors, Ashley Faulk, Shirlie Ellis and Jimmy Helms officiating, Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Visitation for Mr. Allums will be held from 5- 8 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. Allums was born March 4, 1942, son of the late Frank and Ira Allums. He was employed with Dolly Madison for 20 yrs and also worked for the Alabama State Hwy. Dept. retiring after 23 yrs. Survivors include his wife: Evalena Allums; son: Russell (Meralyne) Darby; grandson: Ryan (Victoria) Darby; granddaughter: Kyire (Sunny) Argon; and his first great grandson, due in February. A very special nephew: Phillip (Jennifer) Maulden; great-nephew: Dillon Maulden; great-niece: Aspin Maulden; 6 brothers: David Allums, Robert Allums, Terry Allums, Larry Allums, Steve Allums and Bill Allums, 5 sisters: Carolyn Riley, Ann Williams, Claudie Spurlock, Lavada McManious and Peggy Avery, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Allums was preceded in death by his parents, 3 bothers; Franklin Allums, Jimmy Allums and Holman Barns, 2 sisters; Dean Watson and Doris Glenn. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Allums, Kevin Childs, Kenneth Childs, Donald White, Sam Ellis and Junior Lee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dillon Maulden and the State Hwy. Dept.
