U.S. Rep. Bobby Bright will head to Troy Thursday, and he hopes to hear from his voters when he comes.

Bright, D-Montgomery, will host a town hall meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Troy City Hall Council Chambers.

All the public is invited to this open forum, where residents will have the chance to ask questions or express concerns to their Washington representative.

“I look forward to hosting a town hall meeting to discuss important issues with my constituents from Troy and the surrounding area.  I encourage anyone interested in asking me a question or getting an update on my work on behalf of the Second District to attend,” Bright said. “Staying in close contact with my constituents and understanding your concerns helps me represent your interests in Washington.”

Lewis Lowe, a spokesman for Bright’s office, said the congressman has been traveling throughout the district holding town hall meetings, his latest being in Dothan.

“Dothan focused on immigration because (Bright) had just got back from the border,” Lowe said. “He talked about what he saw there.”

Lowe said he expects immigration will likely be a big topic among Troy’s residents.

But, the topics aren’t confined to anything.

“The economy’s always a big topic, government spending, health care but I think that’s wound down a little bit,” he said.

This is an open forum and residents don’t have to submit questions ahead of time.

“We certainly invite anybody available to come out and ask questions,” Lowe said.
