A man said to have robbed the former Payless Shoe Store in Troy twice will face a jury in the Pike County Circuit Court Tuesday.

He will face trial for the first of those incidents, said to have happened May 16, come Tuesday.

Moore said Wooden is alleged with entering the store and robbing the clerk at gunpoint.

But, this is not Wooden’s first offense.

He is charged with a string of robberies in Troy and Enterprise that took place between March and June 2008.

He was convicted of robbing Walgreens in Enterprise and has two 80-year sentences for those crimes in Coffee County.

He also is charged with robbing the Enterprise Health Food Store in that time frame.

“This guy’s not new at this,” Moore said.

“He has a prior history of robbery. In the 1980s he did something similar.”

Wooden is represented by Enterprise defense attorney Steve Blair.

Blair could not be reached for comment Friday afternoon.

Court will commence in the Pike County Courthouse at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
